Mixing Zones: Surface Waters

PURPOSE:

The Department proposes to amend Rule 62-4.244 of the Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) to allow for mixing zones for nutrients in those waterbodies that have numeric criteria established in Chapter 62-302, F.A.C. This is included as part of the ongoing rulemaking effort to establish numeric nutrient criteria in Chapter 62-302, F.A.C., as originally noticed in the January 30, 2009 issue of the Florida Administrative Weekly, Vol. 35, No. 4, pp. 411-412.

SUBJECT:

Rule development will allow regulated parties to apply for mixing zones for nutrients that have numeric criteria in Chapter 62-302, F.A.C.
