64B9-3.002

Qualifications for Examination

PURPOSE:

The purpose of the rule amendment is to update the passing score on the TOFL examination to demonstrate competency in English, and to delete completion of English as a Second Language as a method to demonstrate competency because completion of that course has not been demonstrated to result in sufficient competency for safe nursing practice.  In addition, the Board is adding language requiring that courses completed to establish the required education be passed with a score approved as passing at the institution at which each course was taken.
