Overview

RULE:

PURPOSE:

The purpose and effect of the amendment is to allow inmates to grow and maintain a half-inch beard, as well as to make other changes regarding inmate grooming.

SUMMARY:

The proposed rulemaking would create new inmate grooming standards, allow male inmates to grow half-inch beards, disallow razors for male inmates, provide that female inmates must have their hair styled only in certain locations, and prohibit certain hairstyles.
