PURPOSE:

The proposed rule will add additional remedial tasks that may be performed by a dental assistant who has received on-the-job training and who performs the tasks under direct supervision of a dentist.  The proposed rule will add additional remedial tasks that may be performed by a dental hygienist who performs the tasks under direct supervision. The proposed rule amendment will clean up the rule by removing outdated terminology.

SUMMARY:

To add additional remedials tasks to be performed by the dental assistant and dental hygienist and update and clarify the rules.
