PURPOSE:

The rulemaking amends Rules 5K-4.002, 5K-4.0050, and 5K-4.023, F.A.C., to adopt by reference the current U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Code and to align with the current federal model. The rulemaking also makes clear that testing requirements after a positive or violative test apply to packaged ice in addition to vended water and vended ice.

SUMMARY:

The rulemaking updates the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Code, which is the national standard and model code for food safety regulation, to the most recent edition and clarifies that testing requirements after a positive or violative test apply to packaged ice in addition to vended water and vended ice.
