PURPOSE:

To amend rules to require utilities to meet higher standards for the construction of overhead electrical transmission and distribution facilities to better withstand the effects of extreme weather events.

SUBJECT:

Strengthening of overhead electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure to address the effects of extreme weather events.
