RULE:

6A-6.0200

Graduation Alternative to Traditional Education Program

PURPOSE:

The purpose and effect of this rule is to implement SB 7032 (2024), which created the Graduation Alternative to Traditional Education (GATE) Program. The rule will (1) provide definitions, (2) address eligibility and criteria for institutions to enact the GATE program, (3) address eligibility and criteria for students to enroll in the GATE program, (4) adopt by reference the form needed to implement the GATE program, and (5) address reporting requirements for institutions.

SUMMARY:

Senate Bill 7032 created the GATE Program, which provides students with alternative pathways to high school graduation and postsecondary education, with a focus on career readiness and skills development. The rule provides eligibility criteria and application procedures for institutions to offer the program.
