District Comprehensive Evidence-Based Reading Plan

PURPOSE:

Annually, school districts submit a District Comprehensive Evidence-Based Reading Plan (CERP) to the Department for approval. These plans outline the components of the district’s system of reading instruction. The CERP Reflection Tool allows districts to assess implementation of their reading plan over the past school year. The purpose of the rule amendment is to adjust several questions in the Reflection Tool to capture more quantitative data and to remove redundant language from the rule. The effect is to improve clarity in the rule and to improve data analysis.

SUMMARY:

The proposed changes revise the CERP Reflection Tool in several areas to capture qualitative data to improve data analysis. Redundant language in subsection (6)(c) is also being removed for clarity.
