Overview

RULE:

33-601.731	Suspension of Visitation Privileges
33-601.800	Close Management
33-601.830	Death Row

PURPOSE:

The purpose and effect of the rule amendment is to include drugs that are not currently addressed in the rule, to amend Form DC4-643A, and to ensure that forms are properly referenced.  The rule amendment will enable the Department to suspend an inmate’s visitation privileges when the inmate is found using or in possession of drugs and to prevent visitors from bring the drugs into the institution.  Revising Form DC4-643A will assist in better evaluating inmates in close management.  Removing effective dates from forms referenced, but not incorporated in the rule will also ensure consistency in the use of the proper form.

SUMMARY:

The amendments include substances as drugs that are not currently addressed in the rule; assist in better evaluating inmates in close management; and remove effective dates from forms not incorporated in the rule to ensure consistency in the use of the proper form.
