Permit Application Processing Fees

PURPOSE:

The South Florida Water Management District (“District”) is proposing to amend Rule 40E-1.607 as follows: 1) reduce the transfer fee for consumptive use permits (“CUP”) to zero; 2) add a new CUP fee category for a 30-day backup supply for interrupted reclaimed water service; and 3) add a new CUP fee category to allow for the crediting of the processing fee for a CUP application that is withdrawn to a new application or notice received from the same applicant if done within 365 days from when the original application was withdrawn. The proposed amendments will reduce regulatory costs and will make the District’s CUP program consistent with its environmental resource permitting program.

SUMMARY:

In order to be consistent with the environmental resource permitting program, the proposed amendments to Rule 40E-1.607 will change the transfer fee for water use permits to zero, add a new CUP fee category to allow the crediting of the processing fee for a CUP application that is withdrawn to a new application or notice received from the same applicant if done within 365 days from when the original application was withdrawn. The proposed amendments to Rule 40E-1.607 will also include a new CUP fee category for a 30-day backup supply for interrupted reclaimed water service.
